I felt like watching this the other night, so I popped it in. It is a bit of a lame entry in the series, but at the same time, it provides a sense of closure for the Andy Barclay arc. I suppose the main problem with the film is that it has to follow Child’s Play 2, and it doesn’t really try very hard to out-do its predecessor.
The finale of the film is probably the best part. Chucky takes his new victim hostage and Andy chases them into a carnival horror ride. They scale this fake, indoor mountain with all sorts of horror themed special effects going on around them. At one point, while Chucky is trying to take over Tyler’s body, the scythe of a big mechanical Grim Reaper swoops down and shears off half of his face. The final demise of Chucky is awesome, doll+giant fan= not good.
