Durrr, I finally rented Drive on Friday. I liked it, a lot. I had GTA/GTA: Vice City in the back of my mind while watching it for some reason. The music evoked an 80’s feeling, while the pace and tone were like something from a 70’s film. It was nice to watch a low key movie like this. The action and violence was quick and brutal and over with. The chase scene after the failed robbery would have been 20 minutes long If handled in the way of a more conventional Hollywood movie. This is the first time I’ve watched a film starring Ryan Gosling, I knew he was a good actor, but The Notebook and Crazy, Stupid, Love are not really something I flock to see. I can say now after watching this, that I’d like to see him in more well made action/thriller’s.
